Teardrop Earring Pattern

With having short hair, I love to wear big and bold earrings. They make a statement and are, to be honest, quite beautiful! Enjoy!

 

Materials:

Small Hook ( I used a size 7)

Thread yarn

Jump rings (2)

Earring hooks (2)

Tapestry Needle

Fabric/Yarn Stiffener (optional)

Scissors


 

Abbreviations:

Chain (ch)

Double Crochet (dc)

Treble Crochet (tr)

Cluster (cl)

Double Crochet Together (dc2tog)

Yarn Over (YO)

Continue (cont)

Repeat (rep)

Beginning (beg)


Special Stitches:

5-dc cluster: YO, insert hook in specified space, yo, draw up a loop, yo and pull through 2 loops on hook, (repeat 4 more times), yo and draw through all 6 loops on hook.


dc2tog: YO, insert hook in specified stitch, YO, draw up a loop, YO, pull through 2 loops. YO, insert hook in same stitch, YO, pull up a loop, YO, draw through two loops, YO and draw through all three loops on hook.

Make 2


(Row 1) Make a slip knot and ch 5. In the first ch, work 8 tr.

ch 5, turn.


(Row 2) Work (8 tr, ch 1) in each stitch. Ch 3. Turn.


(Row 3) In the first ch-1 space, work dc; ch 1; (skip next tr from previous row) and work a 5-dc cluster in next ch-1 space. ch 1 to close the cluster; (in next ch-1 space, work dc, ch 1) total of 4 times; in next ch-1 space, work a 5-dc cluster (cl); ch 1; in beg ch, work dc2tog; ch 3, turn.


(Row 4) In the next ch-1 space, work one dc; ch 1; Skip cluster from previous row and in the next ch-1 space, work a 5-dc cl; ch 1; (in the next ch-1 space, work dc and ch 1) total of three times. In the next ch-1 space, work a 5-dc cl; ch 1; in the last stitch, work a dc2tog; ch 3, turn.


(Row 5) In the first ch-1 space, work dc; ch 1; (skip next tr from previous row) and work a 5-dc cluster in next ch-1 space. ch 1 to close the cluster; (in next ch-1 space, work dc, ch 1) total of 2 times; in next ch-1 space, work a 5-dc cluster (cl); ch 1; in beg ch, work dc2tog; ch 3, turn.


(Row 6): In the first ch-1 space, work dc; ch 1; (skip next tr from previous row) and work a 5-dc cluster in next ch-1 space. ch 1 to close the cluster; in next ch-1 space, work dc, ch 1; in next ch-1 space, work a 5-dc cluster (cl); ch 1; in beg ch, work dc2tog; ch 3, turn.


(Row 7): In the first ch-1 space, work dc; ch 1; (skip next tr from previous row) and work a 5-dc cluster in next ch-1 space. ch 1 to close the cluster; in next ch-1 space, work a 5-dc cluster (cl); ch 1; in beg ch, work dc2tog; ch 3, turn.


(Row 8) In the first ch-1 space, work dc; ch 1; (skip next tr from previous row) and work a 5-dc cluster in next ch-1 space. ch 1 to close the cluster; in beg ch, work dc2tog; ch 3, turn.


(Row 9) In the first ch-1 space, work dc; ch 1; in beg ch, work dc2tog; ch 3, turn.


(Row 10) Work a dc2tog in last stitch. Fasten off.


 

Use the stiffener for the completed look. Attach jump rings and earring hooks.
