sk 2 ch’s in the next stitch work a shell stitch

*Sk 2 ch’s and work a sc in that next ch, sk 2 ch’s and work a shell. Continue from * to the end. You will finish the row with a single crochet. Total of 10 shells.
(Working down the opposite side of the band.) From the last sc that you made, ch 1, and sc in the same stitch slightly turning the work.

On this row, you will be mirroring the work you just did to match the previous row.
In the next stitch to work, at the bottom of the shell that you worked from the previous row, work one shell.

In the next sc stitch from the previous row, work a sc.

You will continue working like this for the entire row. Work shells in the bottom of the shells, and sc in the bottom of the sc’s.
At the end of the row, end with a sc.

In the very end, work a sl st. Ch 1, work 2 sc in the same space. Ch 1 and turn work. Work 3 sc in this row.

Ch 1. Turn work. You will continue to work 3 sc in each row for a total of 5 rows. Fasten off

Working on the other end of the headband, connect the yarn and ch 1. Work 3 sc in the same space. Ch1, turn. Work one sc in each of the next spaces. Like “mirroring” the other end, you will make 5 rows of 3 sc in each stitch in each row. Fasten off.
Sew your elastic on the ends and ...VOILA! You have a great headband!
