Butterflies are self propelled flowers. ~R.H. Heinlein

There's nothing better in the world than little miniature things: teacup puppies, mini cows, or fuzzy pygmy bunnies. I just want to love them all.
One of the most satisfying crochet creations is making embellishments.
They brighten a blanket, hat, or a doggie sweater. They are easy to make and really make your project pop.
These butterflies can be crocheted in 5 minutes or less. You can use any size yarn, thread and crochet hook. Before you know it, you'll be crocheting a butterfly grove!
Grab your hook, yarn and a glass of wine!
1. Make your magic circle . The entire butterfly will be made in the circle.

2. Chain 6

3. Make, what I call a Mega Treble, by wrapping the hook three times. Insert hook into the Magic Circle, yarn over, pull up a loop. Yarn over, pull through two loops. Repeat this until you are left with one loop on the hook.

4. Work two treble crochets.

5. Work one double crochet

6. Chain 2

7. Slip stitch in the Magic Circle. The follow the picture below:

8. Mirroring what you just did, work: chain 3, treble, double crochet, chain 2, slip stitch in Magic Circle. (Lower right just made)

9. Chain 2, one double crochet, 2 trebles, one Mega treble, chain 6, slip stitch in the Magic Circle. (Top right done).

10. Fasten off. Pull Magic Circle tight. Weave in the yarn. Sew it on a project! Easy right?!
